Domain names

Domain names represent an extension of trade mark rights and we can assist our clients with registering their domain name as well as enforcing their trade mark rights against illegitimate or potentially conflicting domain names when appropriate.

Disputes over entitlement are nowadays frequent, especially given that domain names are granted on a first come first served basis. At Gilholm Harrison, our trade mark team is experienced in handling such disputes and in particular in filing complaints with the appropriate authorities, ultimately achieving the transfer of an illegitimate domain back to our clients or its cancellation altogether.

We can also provide a watching service for an existing domain name which would expose any potentially conflicting new domain registration.
